Al Roker hosts childhood obesity special tonight

Tonight at 9:00 p.m. on the Food Network, Al Roker will host Childhood Obesity: Danger Zone, a special that delves into the obesity epidemic that now affects more than 12 million children in America. The special will

focus mostly on children, including: a teenager who weighs 500 pounds; the public policy initiative put in place by Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee to help overweight children; and a doctor who teaches kids how to shop for healthy food.

    Will Roker talk about how it took surgery to get him less than obese??? That should prove interesting. If the show was taped prior to the Imus fiasco, we should be spared Roker’s ongoing comments about that! Thankfully!

    This was actually a pretty interesting show. Last night Discovery Heath ran a ton of shows on morbid obesity and that was pretty cool too. Made me want to lose some weight that is for sure.

    I think that they need to focus on childhood obesity. I remember when I was a kid I really never watched tv. And we didn’t have the internet back then. I would walk the dog…go for 8 mile bike rides…go swimming…WHy can’t kids do that now adays? Oh yeah because we constantly have to know where they are because they might be kidnapped or something.
