CBS orders more scripts for Moonlight, Cane

CBS wants to see where a few of its under-performing shows are going before deciding their fate. The network ordered four more scripts for both Moonlight and Cane. Moonlight, a series about vampires in Los Angeles, is the net’s lowest-rated show on Friday nights (it’s in the 10 pm day slot). And Cane is ranked 8th on Tuesday nights.

While I can’t say much about Cane, I can say that I was mighty disappointed in Moonlight.

I’m a big fan of Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars, but I found him horribly miscast as “the oldest vampire in LA” (or possibly he’ll always be Logan Echolls to me).

Love the show Cane and I am highly disappointed that CBS has decided not to continue yet another very good show. They did the same thing with Kidnapped! CBS really needs to give these good shows more time and stop disappointing the people who really truly enjoy them. There is only so much junk will I am going to watch and Lord knows most of what is on TV now is just that, junk! Cane had excellent acting, writing, finished storylines and plots without keeping their viewers in suspense for months. (Unlike shows like 24–I only what shows like that when there is a marathon on another network) I loved the way it concluded matters within a few weeks and didn’t insult my intelligence with a lot of foolness and bad writing. Things actually made sense on Cane. Because of this nonsense that network TV does in discontinuing TV shows that I like, I am watching more cable stations and now have a subscription to NetFlex. I’m watching less and less network television because the quality is lacking sorely and I’m tried ofr being jerked around. LISTEN AND LEARN!

I am so disappointed that Cane won’t be back. I loved that show. Also, I’m getting sick and tired of investing my time in these new shows only to have them cancelled. Why bother watching????

Why? Why does the networks broadcast shows that are really worth watching then move to a different day and time slot only to say, “Well, we do not have the audience for this show, let’s cancel it!” There are only a handful of shows that I will watch faithfully every week and I will not watch the “Top 5 or 10″ despite the popularity. When American Idol was on, I watched a diffent network (CBS) because the shows I loved was airing at the same time. When the shows are cancelled is when I turn to Lifetime, Fox, or CNN or anything else so I do not need to watch the stupid, lower rated shows that are airing on cable. Listen and pay attention to the viewers: Do not jump to different time slots to go up against the #1 shows, keep where you are at and the viewers will come. Don’t switch days, viewers are wanting to watch your shows on the days or nights you have them scheduled. just remember also, when you switch the viewers switch.
