Everybody Hates Chris: Everybody Hates Cutting School
Get out right now and go see Ghostbusters, it’s one of the defining movies of that decade, damn it!”
Putting aside the fact that Chris Rock was actually 19 or 20 years old when Ghostbusters was released, that was a pretty solid episode, and it nicely showed how doing poor things can take its toll on you when you have a guilty conscience.
I’m still having mixed feelings about Rochelle, Chris’ mom. I think some teachers would actually yell at us whether didn’t skip school to go see it: “why the hell are you kids in class? Granted, the scenes with her at the book fair were really funny, but I like Rochelle more when she’s justified in her attitude, not when she merely thinks she’s doing the right thing.

(S02E15) I never skipped school when I was young, mostly considering I was a good kid, but additionally considering I attended school in a small town and it was likely that whether I skipped, someone would notice.
In that episode, Chris and Greg skip school to see Ghostbusters, which is understandable since that movie was a huge phenomenon when it came out. Morals and ethics are nice and all, but they can cheat you out of a lot of fun.
